Merilyn
Artisanal Soap Products
Origin Story: I was inspired by a soap made by a lady in England. A light bulb went off in my head... HEY! I could do this! I researched, read, took courses all over the country. I was hooked! Soon enough I was winning product awards and hearing from happy customers. Funny how life evolves - my great grandfather, grandfather and Dad are chemists.
Creative Spark: Even after crafting thousands of soaps, I still get silly, giddy, crazy excited when I tear open a new bar, lather up and see the bubbles in my hands. I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoyed creating them.
Suzanne
Potter
Origin Story: I make functional art by hand in my small batch artisanal pottery, employing brown and white stoneware. Often I accentuate with repurposed goods, natural leaves or vintage lace, glazing each piece to emphasize the unique details or reflect the inspiration of nature.
Creative Spark: My vision is to craft pieces that are beautiful to display but are truly made for everyday enjoyment
Lori
Embroidery Master
Origin Story: I started hand embroidering when I was eight years old and it wasn't long before I began admiring and collecting antique embroidered linens. Fast-forward 30 years to the purchase of my first embroidery sewing machine and the founding of my business, which grew out of my love of making presents for friends.
Creative Spark: I am so grateful to Blossom for the chance to share my passion for creating and gift giving. I hope it brings a little joy to each recipient.
Sally
Jewelry Designer
Origin Story: My inspiration is New England's landscape, from its ocean beaches to its lakeshores.
Creative Spark: I love being known for the unique color combinations of my signature toggles, personalized charms, sterling silver and gemstones or freshwater pearls or Austrian crystals. My jewelry reflects the everyday elegance of the memorable corner of this country that I call home.
Elaine
Watercolor Artist
Origin Story: As the daughter of a landscape painter and a master seamstress who was also a painter, I have been channeling my love of nature and animals through art since childhood. Now a retired elementary school teacher, I devote several hours daily to painting. My favorite mediums are watercolor and pastels, and I'm inspired by the ocean after having a home in Green Hill Beach, RI for more than 50 years. My art also reflects my dedication to gardening and to our home's passel of dogs.
Creative Spark: I cherish my time with family and especially have enjoyed my collaboration with daughter-in-law Lori Edwards in creating artwork for Blossom. I hope my creations will bring great joy to anyone who visits the shop
Kayla
Baby Toy Maker
Origin Story: I've been crocheting baby toys since I was 12. This year I turned 16 and decided to launch my business. Each of my pieces is made by hand, at home or on the go.
Creative Spark: My art brings joy to all ages no matter what. Anyone and everyone can enjoy what I have to give!
Ben
Landscape Artist
Origin Story: I studied painting at the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in Montecastello di Vibio, Italy and earned a B.F.A. with an emphasis in painting from Pratt Institute.
Creative Spark: My paintings are created on site en plein air. They distill human perception, the sensory experience of witnessing a passage of time and they aim to capture the aura of the day. Each painting is a portrait of a certain place within a specific time and space, each landscape a living, breathing sitter whose mood is manifested by the weather of the passing moment. The paintings are a visual diary of sorts, a record of experience for the artist to translate to the viewer.
Victoria - The Custom Shop
Master Seamstress
Origin Story: With more than 30 years as a seamstress, I sew pillows, cushions, window treatments, bedding, pieces for the upholsterers and much more.
Creative Spark: I enjoy making things perfect and figuring out how to create custom items that have never been made before. When the shop is upholstering pieces, it's fun to be part of the team and to help with the cushions. I like to keep the fabrics organized and know exactly where everything is in the shop.

Master Upholsterer
Origin Story: I am a second-generation upholsterer. I learned the trade from my father and brothers. I am dedicated to the trade in honor of my father, who we lost to COVID two years ago.
Creative Spark: I enjoy making something beautiful from scratch or giving something old a new life. One of the biggest challenges is calculating yardage and cutting the fabric pieces to match up perfectly, especially if it's patterned. It's like solving a puzzle! I love figuring that out.
Tony - The Custom Shop
Master Upholsterer
Origin Story: After growing up in my grandfather's furniture shop, I finally became old enough to work there with my father and uncle. They taught me to build custom fine furniture. When I graduated from college with a visual fine arts degree, I began work with an upholsterer, learning the trade that I have come to love from start to finish.
Creative Spark: There is nothing I enjoy more than the simple joy of a job well done. My favorite activity is drawing a sketch of the piece I am creating in order to brainstorm the most efficient way to build it.
Justin - The Custom Shop
Apprentice Upholsterer
Origin Story: Learning the trade from my dad Jose makes me a third generation upholsterer. Since I drive the company van, I am usually the first person to put hands on the furniture to be upholstered. My other responsibility is to strip off the old fabric, nails and padding. It is important to make sure I get out every staple and nail so the upholsterers don't cut their hands when working.
Creative Spark: I like being part of a successful team in a small business. I enjoy driving to pick up furniture from the customers and, once the pieces are completed, delivering the beautiful work. I really enjoy seeing the smiles when the pieces are done, from the staff in the shop to the customers who are so happy to receive their treasures.
